This is an interactive page which invites anyone interested in horse racing or breeding to learn more about the new addition to Walmac’s stallion roster. Hat Trick is a Grade 1 record setting miler from Japan. We will be continually updating this page with more information on Hat Trick, a son of the incomparable Sunday Silence, one of the leading sires in the world as well as an emerging sire of sires.

KY Breeder - has ayone here been to see him yet? I went a few weeks ago - a really impressive looking horse - an amazing shoulder.
I just can’t make up my mind as to what mare to breed to him.

Hat Trick was great race horse. He have great acelleration when needed.
I think Hat Trick have great sucess at stud in America. He have more sucess on track than other proven Sunday Silence sires.

I really think that Hat Trick is the kind of sire that America needs. He’s a fresh breath of air interms of his racerecord, and also his pedigree.

Welcome to Hat Trick’s blog.
Not since when Nureyev and Alleged stood at Walmac have our enquiries been so internationally diverse. In the current US economic climate, I find this interest particularly encouraging with regards to Hat Trick’s potential to be a commercial sire.
From whatever corner of the world you are based, I invite you to share your opinions, knowledge or perhaps you recollections of Hat Trick while he was racing.

Many of horse racing fans in Japan should be surprised at opening this blog!! For me, his most impressive race must be Mile Championship held in Kyoto, 2005… Hope to see his son or daughter soon!!

The U.S. lost Sunday Silence in 1990, but got Hat Trick in 2007.

Hi,
You guys at Walmac are going to have to hook this blog up with a translation device!
I was really excited when Walmac announced it got Hat Trick and another farm was going to stand another Sunday Silence son. Prior to that it seemed like we were only getting (in most cases) the Sunday Silence progeny nobody else wanted.
Judging from his videos, it sure looks like this horse could run.

We have been looking into doing that.
Obviously we are very excited about having him here in the US. Many of the other sons (of Sunday Silence) have already proved themselves as sires around the world, not only in Asia but also in Europe.
It is also worth mentioning that not many of them are as qualified in terms of their pedigrees and race-records as Hat Trick.

As George knows, I was very impressed with Hat Trick upon viewing him prior to the breeding season. He is so well balanced that he doesn’t look his 16 2 ½ stature until you walk right up to him. He has a fluid long stride that I am sure helped make him the racehorse that he was. He is reasonably priced for a stallion of his caliber and is an excellent outcross. We are sending a mare that was previously booked to stallions double his fee and do not feel that I have stepped down in quality. We are really looking forward to his offspring.

I went to Walmac last week to see him. I have to say, I was really impressed by him. He’s a magnificent specimen.

Great to finally see a quality son of Sunday Silence here in North America. He should be a very versatile sire with the ability to get Dirt, Turf and Synthetic horses. If they are anything like their daddy…WATCH OUT!

2005年11月20日に、京都競馬場で行われた、第22回・マイルチャンピオンシップで、ハットトリックが、ダイワメジャーをハナ差抑えて、優勝し、ハットトリックが、初の重賞制覇を、プレゼントしたのを、ぼくは懐かしく想い出しています。
ハットトリックが、シャトル種牡馬として、いい産駒を輩出して成功に導くことを、期待したいと想います。

ハットトリック(HAT TRICK）が、今日で、現役引退から、1年を迎えました。
1年前、読売マイラーズカップに参戦した、ハットトリックは、東京競馬場で行われた、安田記念に向けて、調整していましたが、アメリカと南アフリカで半年ごとに行き来する、シャトル種牡馬として送れるよう、種牡馬としてスタッドインしてほしいというオファーに、馬主のキャロットファームが応じまして、所属厩舎の角居勝彦厩舎（栗東・在厩当時）の関係者と協議した結果、この日、現役引退を発表しました。
あれから、1年がたちました。
ハットトリックは、2007年5月10日付けで、JRAの競走馬登録を抹消され、同時に、栗東トレーニングセンターの、角居勝彦厩舎を後に、山元トレーニングセンターへ向かい、ここで検疫検査を受けた後、飛行機で、アメリカ・ケンタッキー州・レキシントン近郊の、ウォルマックファームへ、種牡馬生活に向けて、出発、長く住んでいた、日本を後にしました。
今年から、種牡馬として、アメリカ・ケンタッキー州のウォルマックファームで送っているほか、南アフリカへのシャトル種牡馬としても、供用が予定されており、来年の2009年には、初年度産駒の誕生が予定されている、ハットトリックが、2世という、いい産駒を生んでくれるのか、期待したいと、想い、願っています。
がんばれ、ハットトリック（HAT TRICK) 種牡馬として、世界中でいい産駒を生んで、広がって行ってね！

I heavily studied genetics for over 12 years; bought a mare who’s half brother was The Top Producer-All TIME; her sire was 2nd Top Producer-ALL TIME; her dam’s sire was the 3rd Top Producer-ALL TIME; she was only able to conceive twice, to a horse that I WOULD NEVER HAVE USED ON PAPER with her, but who was very heavily line bred, almost inbred, and the Genotype and the Phenotype of both offspring was remarkable. The son consistantly produced the pedigree, and the one time the mare conceived, she did the same.
That is how I had always felt in my heart about Sunday Silence, that bred correctly, he would knock our socks off with his offspring; and it appears that Japan took what the US would not have paid a dime for in 1990, and today the US needs badly Sunday Silence’s influence here, especially with the Northern Dancer, Secretariat offspring.
May Hat Trick bless the socks off of you Walmac for investing in him, and in his sire. Can you tell I LOVED SUNDAY SILENCE. I know I would love to have a Sunday Silence offsping if just to have as a personal riding horse ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Hat Trick is one beautiful horse and his stud fee has to be one of the best bargains in Kentucky. Time will tell but I believe he will become one of the leading sires and that stud fee will rise significantly.

昨年から、種牡馬生活を送っている、ハットトリックが、今度は、アルゼンチンでも、シャトル種牡馬として、繋養生活を送ることが、分かったのです。
昨年は、119頭に種付けを行い、成功した、ハットトリックが、種牡馬生活をスタートして、1年目の今年、アルゼンチンでのシャトル種牡馬として、繋養生活を、無事にこなせるのか、期待したいと想い、願っています。
南米・アルゼンチンでも、シャトル種牡馬として、がんばって、いい産駒を輩出していってね、ハットトリック！

We have a bred a beautiful colt by Hat Trick out of a Hector Protector mare from the Habibti tail line.
He’s 3 months old now, looks like his dad and is full of beans.
He’s right out there, very forward, nipping and striking out at every opportunity.
I’m wondering if a forward, adversarial nature is common to Sunday Silence line horses?
I would also like to know how many mares Hat Trick covered while in Australia?
In future, will Hat Trick shuttle to the southern hemisphere and if so, where will he go?
Also, will he return to Australia in the future?

サンデーサイレンスと、トリッキーコードの仔・ハットトリックが、4月26日(日本時間・27日)に、まる9歳の誕生日を迎えました。
現在は、アルゼンチンのエルマリン牧場で、半年間の限定によるシャトル種牡馬生活を送っている、ハットトリックが、更なる、種牡馬生活を送れるのか、期待したいと想い、願っています。
昨日(現地時間・26日)は、まる9歳の誕生日を迎えてよかったね、来年は牡・10歳になるので、元気でいい産駒を輩出して行こうね。
お誕生日おめでとう、HAT TRICK(ハットトリック・血統名・トリッキーコードの2001)!
